The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE is an
international non-profit, professional organization for the advancement
of technology related to electricity. It has the highest number of
members among all technical professional organizations in the world,
with more than 395,000 members in around 150 countries. The Fellowship
Program was established to promote, recognize, and support masters level
study and research within the Electron Devices Society's field of
interest. In 2010, only three researchers in the world, Oguz Hanoglu
among them, are awarded with this fellowship.(http://www.ieee.org/portal/pages/society/eds/education/mastersstudentfellowship.html)
Oguz Hanoglu received his B.Sc degree in electrical engineering from
Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2009. He is
currently a researcher working at UNAM as a member of Okyay Research
Team. His main research topic is low-cost, portable, and highly
sensitive nano-biosensors for label-free protein detection. These kind
of biosensors are promising for timely and effective diagnostics of
various cancer diseases. Oguz is also interested in fabrication and
characterization of high temperature coefficient of resistance
structures. These structures have critical applications in the field of
uncooled bolometer based thermal imaging systems. In his research, Oguz
uses the UNAM Cleanroon Facility intensively. Lithography, E-beam
evaporation, Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD), Wet
Etching are some of the fabrication techniques he uses in the UNAM
cleanroom. Meanwhile, Oguz is the goalkeeper of UNAM Cleanroom Facility
football team.
